May 2021 Newsletter
President's Report

Greetings IFMA members,
May in Colorado is the time that we can put away the snowplows and get the landscaping projects started. We had a great presentation in April from Colorado Springs Utilities on the new water wise rules. If you were unable to attend, make sure to take a look at their website for more information on these new rules.
As employees are returning to the office and Covid restrictions are being relaxed, now is the time to stay on top of industry trends. IFMA National has a lot of great training, articles, and resources available for Return to Office Activities. Check out their knowledge library and their Engage Forum.
The local Pikes Peak Chapter is making preparations for our annual and biannual board changes. If you have any interest in participating in a committee or on the board, please reach out and let me know.
We have some great plans for a combined June meeting with a few other organizations. This will allow greater networking benefits and exposure for members as well as our chapter. Please stay tuned for more details. We hope to be back to in-person meetings in the following months so stay tuned.
Our chapter is committed to providing timely educational sessions and collaboration between professionals. I invite you to stay informed with our monthly newsletters and look forward to seeing everyone in person soon.

How long have you been a member of IFMA?
I started out at IFMA in Denver in 2017.
Why did you join IFMA?
I joined IFMA as a way to learn and connect with other people with similar interest. I appreciate the opportunity to contribute and give back, and I’m always learning about various aspects of our industry from members in our group.
What’s something about you (a fun fact) not many people know?
I used to be a Yoga instructor, and was a part of the very first CorePower Yoga teach training course, back when there were only 2 locations in in the country
What characteristic do you admire most in others?
That’s a tough one! Probably transparency and accountability. If we have a problem, let’s face it head on and find a solution, rather than trying to hide or work around it.
What’s one skill you’d like to develop or sharpen this year?
Wow, so many! I’m focused on learning as much as I can about day to day operations in the facility services world. I have experience in janitorial and engineering services, but in my new position, I am learning about parking, landscaping, energy services, mission critical and more. Also, I’m fascinated by the concept of Emotional Intelligence, and love to read about increasing my EQ.
